Eleanor's post truly captured the essence of our experience yesterday. The interaction between students from all schools was like the wide end of a funnel, bringing information, emotion and insight into a wide array of schools. When the conference concluded, the discussion between just our students narrowed to the realization that right here, in our school, the effects of the earthquake also exist. We, too, have students who have lost family, who are worried about those they haven't heard from and who are concerned for the future of Haiti's people. Many probing questions were asked- some being answered and some just to ponder. What is uncertain is the future of Haiti, but what is certain is that a globalized classroom can have powerful and far-reaching effects upon students and that are directly aligned with 21st century skills. Thanks for all of your hard work Eleanor!
