Patty Marina’s grade 6 science class teleconferenced with Dr. Greg Forbes, Severe Weather Expert from The Weather Channel. The students watched dramatic slides of tornadoes while Dr. Forbes explained the underlying weather patterns that cause them. In preparation for the conference, students watched a Storm Riders video, courtesy of Power to Learn, about “two young maverick scientists Juston and Simon on their quest for tornadoes and hurricanes….across state lines, battling heavy rain, hail and dangerous lightning along the way.”
