Julia Jaffee’s grade 6 class videoconferenced today with Lisa McNally’s class at George Junior High School in Texas. The students of both schools chose a ‘peace quote’ to discuss and share with the larger group. They focused on how their quote related to themselves and their community. Many thanks to our new friends in Texas; we hope to work with you more on our Schools for Peace project. Much inspiration for Ms. Jaffee’s class was provided by the book, Peace One Day by Jeremy Gilley. This videoconference followed a Suffern Middle School dedication of the new Peace Pole. Please see our school website for pictures. This was the first event in our new videoconference room.
